200 pairs is the amount that was sold from the collection of Louis Vuitton and Nike Air Force 1 sneakers. This collection is created by the American designer Virgil Abloh and have been sold for $ 25 million.

Seems that the price of  sneaker’ sums exceed the initial estimates of Sotheby’s. The initial start offer was at $ 2,000 per pair and had predicted that they would sell for $ 5,000 to $ 15,000 each.

The average of the sneaker is more than $ 100,000 per pair. If we could do a comparison between the cheapest sold pair and the most expensive ones, the statistics say that the cheapest one were sold for $ 75,000 and the expensive sold for $ 350,000.

This special leather collection, is based on brown, white and cream color with distinctive monogram were realized to celebrate  the 40th anniversary of Nike Air Force 1.

Proceeds from the sale will go to a scholarship fund created by Virgil Abloh that supports aspiring designers of African-American or African descent.

In November 2021, Abloh, who was Louis Vuitton’s artistic director for the menswear collection and executive director of Off-White, passed away at the age of 41 due to cancer.

With experience in architecture, Abloh entered the fashion world through street fashion. In 2009, he conducted an internship at Fendi alongside Kanye West. After that, he collaborated with Kanye and started founding Off-White.

Virgil Abloh was the first American of African descent to be the artistic director of a French luxury fashion house. In 2018, he was named by Time magazine as one of the 100 most influential people in the world.
