Fall/Winter Chanel collection is a reflection of the past?!

What we saw on their new collection was continuation of the previous collection, which was as well admitted by the creator.

“These boots also echo the previous Haute Couture show which opened with Charlotte Casiraghi on horseback,” adds Virginie Viard.

Virginie Viard concept for the Chanel’s Spring/Summer 2022 Haute Couture show was the recall of Coco Chanel’s most known models.

“In this new collection, there are suits, long dresses like Mademoiselle Chanel imagined them in the 1930s: fitted to the body even if they have strong shoulders here, and pleated dresses like the wedding dress for example. And the lace too, encrusted, reworked, not embroidered, but repainted. The palette is made up of bright green, khaki, beige, pink, lots of black and silver” explains Virginie Viard for L’officiel.

A few structure features were also present, beginning with rounded shoulders, square silhouettes, geometric forms, etc. These components complemented the 1970s graphic décor that the late designer Karl Lagerfeld loved while strengthening the 1930s style. Regrettably, Viard will continue to break the rules of the game.

“I also like breaking the graphic approach with a natural rendering. The clothes remain light, feminine, designed to be worn. I do not see myself doing other.”

Along with the clothing, the jewelry in the collection honors the namesake of the Maison. The necklaces are used as “heavenly elements as they adapt to the folds” using pieces from the “1932” high jewelry anniversary collection, which pays homage to Coco Chanel’s one and only “Bijoux de Diamants” collection.
