The living room is often where we gather with family and enjoy leisure time, but in Feng Shui, the kitchen is considered to be the center of the household. This age-old method aims to achieve equilibrium and draw in positive energy. The five elements are wood, metal, water, fire, and earth. One of the components of Feng Shui in the kitchen is fire, which has meanings related to plenty, health, and creativity.

Now is the time to take care of the kitchen and give it positive energy if you want Feng Shui to rule your home. Where do I begin? The Little Book of Feng Shui author Astrid Izquierdo (@sincronia integral) provides us with the means to give up certain negative habits that prohibit us from having a balanced and more Zen kitchen.

1. Don’r Turn Your Back To The Door
If your kitchen is open, you won’t experience this; but, if it is closed, it is very probable that you will turn your back on the door while cooking. Astrid Izquierdo offers us a tip because we can’t demolish the kitchen until you’re rebuilding it: “If this is your situation and there is no other alternative, position a decorative type mirror that works as a “rear-view mirror” to prevent any shocks and have control of the area.”

2. Avoid Visual Noise
We keep a lot of utensils, clothes, and pans in the kitchen. The ideal is to leave only a few components exposed if you want to keep a balance and stick to Feng Shui principles. Astrid says that “visual noise scatters a lot and makes us not want to cook,” therefore she suggests. Her counsel to him? Try to keep the counter clear of clutter and with few items visible. Maintaining order in the kitchen is another option.

3. Avoid Keeping Utensils You Don’t Need
Less may be more. This holds true in the kitchen as well. The kitchenware that Astrid does not use frequently should be eliminated. “Long term, they lead to an unneeded barrier being created. Unused things are like stagnant energy. Make a list of things you no longer need, “the Feng shui specialist claims.

4. Stay Away from Industrial  Kitchens
In restaurants, it’s good to see industrial-style kitchens, but in family homes, we might remark that they’re not very Feng Shui-friendly. They are often elaborate, hefty kitchens that give off a chilling impression. With regard to the five elements (fire, earth, metal, and water), Astrid advises choosing a different kind of kitchen: “In a house we need a more welcoming and well-balanced energy that inspires us to cook.”

5. Say “NO” To Black Color
The kitchen is one of several spaces where black is employed. It adds sophistication, classic style, and elegance. But if we take Feng Shui into consideration, black stagnates energy, at least in the kitchen. Astrid believes that this tone “may get gloomy” frequently. What shades should you choose? The Feng Shui specialist advises using light colors like beige, yellow, or any shade of green.

6. No Damaged  Utensils
Try to fix everything that breaks in the kitchen as quickly as you can. Recycle it in the case that it cannot be rectified. What does this accomplish in Feng Shui? Eliminating these objects from the kitchen “avoids extending the sensation of having pending concerns to tackle,” claims Astrid Izquierdo. You’ll feel more free and have access to only what you need in the kitchen.
