Microsoft said that the outdated Internet Explorer browser would be retired 27 years after it was initially released in 1995.
Internet Explorer will be deactivated as of yesterday (June 15), and users will be transferred to the Microsoft Edge browser.
In an age when Microsoft controlled the computer world, before of Google, Facebook, and TikTok, Internet Explorer was the “gateway” to the Internet for individuals born before Generation Z. Because of the widespread use of software as part of the Windows operating system, Microsoft controlled the market.
People were compelled to use alternative quicker browsers, such as Mozilla Firefox or subsequently Google Chrome, because Internet Explorer was often sluggish.
Despite this, Internet Explorer is still widely used across the world. According to a poll conducted by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission in September 2021, Google Chrome (95%) was the most popular browser, followed by Internet Explorer (85%), Firefox (81%), Apple Safari (80%), and Edge (69 %).
And what makes it more special are peoples reactions.
