Christian Bale won’t give up! He is releasing another project this year after “Thor: Love and Thunder.” Directed by David O. Russell, the movie has a stellar ensemble that includes Margot Robbie, John David Washington, Robert de Niro, Rami Malek, Chris Rock, etc.
‘Amsterdam’ takes place in the 1930s and follows Washington and Robbie as a duo who must help Bale after he is accused of murder. Along the way, they meet various strange characters and find themselves in the middle of a great American conspiracy.
The first movie David O. Russell has written and directed since 2015 is Amsterdam. He took a break for a while when a video of him yelling obscenities at Lily Tomlin on the set of “I Heart Huckabees” surfaced in 2004. During the filming of “American Hustle,” he allegedly made Amy Adams cry and forced Christian Bale to jump in to defend her.
